Aioria
Cyber is a pretty small club, no bigger than the Continental in NYC. The show was scheduled to start at 7:00, and we arrived at 6:45 to find the place apparently packed. People were spilling out of the audience area and into the hallway. And there was nowhere to go. It was very disappointing to realize that I was probably going to spend the entire show jammed in the back unable to see much... But around 7:20, the intro music began to play, and people moved forward. And... a weird thing happened... Somehow I wound up in the front row, in the usual place right in front of Michiru. ^^; How does this happen? I could have sworn it would have been impossible to get up there. Anyway, it was a good spot. The only problem is that whenever I waved my hand, I kept hitting Michiru's microphone stand. They played "Hana Kotoba" THREE times, so this happened a lot... Sarino was wearing a jacket that looked like it might once have been a suit jacket but had been taken apart and reconstructed in distressed visual couture style. Michiru was wearing a burgundy velvet dress with furry trim on top and a lot of ruffles on the bottom. The bottommost ruffle in the front was torn (somebody call a seamstress! @_@;) and hanging loose on the floor trying to tangle itself around Michiru's feet. I was afraid he'd trip over it, but nothing bad happened. Misa was fully costumed -- big hat, wig, furry thing, exotic eye makeup. Hiroki had his hair pulled back in a high ponytail with a few braids hanging loose. They had a support bassist. I believe his name is Kazutake. He was vaguely familiar looking, in plaid, but I don't know if he actually was familiar or just looks like somebody... Anyway, having a real live bassist onstage really helps the energy of the musical performance. I'm glad he was there. ^_^ Misa is scary sometimes. ^^; During the beginning of the show he came flying over to Michiru's side of the stage and hurtled back-first at the audience so quickly and with so much momentum that I instinctively let out an "eek!" and jumped back. ^^;;; He came within inches of my face, but somehow magically didn't actually hit anybody. That was the first time. The second time, he came running over (again at full speed) and... fell. He did it in a way that seemed to defy physics -- given his direction and speed, he should have landed in the audience. Somehow he managed to fall straight down, though. My boyfriend thinks this is because Misa's either had dance or martial arts training and has a good center of balance, but personally I'm convinced that Misa is a walking example of cartoon physics. There was a lot of fan touching this time! ^_^ The only member I'd seen reach out to the audience at the previous shows was Sarino, but they all got into it last night. Sarino of course loves to be petted... he leans way out into the audience and rubs his cheek against their hands like a happy cat. Michiru, who I'd never seen getting close to the audience before, was right at the front of the stage too. He took a lot of fans' hands over and over again. ^_^ Aioria really doesn't have enough material yet for a proper oneman. There were a lot of talking and goofing around segments. Sarino did the usual vocalist MC stuff, but all the members got in front of the microphone. Misa's very cute and has a rather sexy voice. (^^) Michiru is really funny... He sounds exactly the way you'd expect somebody dressed like him to sound. It's a little reminiscent of Kamijo's "bonjour honey" voice. (haha) Misa did a little keyboard solo, with Michiru dancing around and encouraging the audience to join in. It was a cute little dance. ^_^ The music was a Scott Joplin piece that you've probably heard on merry-go-rounds. Misa played a couple of rounds of it, a little faster each time, until Michiru fell down. (so cute!) Michiru came back out for this in an interestingly constructed variation on a schoolgirl uniform with a short skirt that left his thighs exposed and made it easy for him to run around. They had a long MC segment when they came out again after the encore. Michiru introduced all the members onstage and read a list of their upcoming shows. (see below) It gets SO hot in Cyber! Everybody was dying... Just as you'd expect, Misa came back out in ordinary clothes, without the hat and wig, his face scrubbed clean of all the makeup. (I wished I could take off MY hair like that!) He looked very relieved as he rubbed his cool and hair-free head. Sarino had a lighter jacket with a short shirt underneath, which raised up whenever he lifted his arms so we could see his nice abs. Hiroki came back out in a pair of the shortest shorts I've ever seen on a guy. He has long legs and remarkably nice thighs. They're sleekly muscled and firm, yet without being stringy. Very smooth and pretty. And those shorts were SO short, he really looked like he was about to (*ahem*) pop out from under them at any moment. Michiru and Misa were looking at his legs... Hiroki said it was hot... He picked up one of Michiru's wands and spun it around like a drumstick, which prompted Michiru the comic to try to imitate him in an exaggeratedly clumsy fashion. Anyway, it was a great show and loads of fun. Lots of energy from both the band and the audience. It's too bad they won't be playing again for a while. *sigh* UPCOMING SHOWS
